Two Qatar-based Drug Lords Arrested As NDLEA Intercepts Their Meth Consignment At Lagos Airport

Two Qatar-based drug lords have been apprehended by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Nigeria.

The suspects, identified as Eyah Celestine Nnamdi, also known as Murphy, and Ugwuoke Peter Oluchukwu, were arrested after the NDLEA intercepted a consignment of methamphetamine at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for NDLEA, Ugwuoke was the first to be apprehended on June 9th.

He was attempting to clear Qatar Airways passengers at Terminal 2 of the Lagos airport for their departure to Doha. During the investigation, it was discovered that Ugwuoke was traveling under the name Hien Narcisse, using an Ivorian international passport.

Upon a thorough examination of his black carry-on luggage, NDLEA officers uncovered a false bottom concealment, within which two parcels of crystalline substance were found. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 1.00kg.

The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Eyah Celestine Nnamdi, who is believed to be an accomplice of Ugwuoke. The NDLEA is currently conducting further investigations to gather more information about their illicit drug trafficking operations and any potential links to other criminal networks.
