The trend of fighters putting down their weapons continues as two Boko Haram fighters turned themselves in on April 13, 2024, according to the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 3 in Monguno, Nigeria.
The two, Adam Muhammad and Ahmed Isiaka, from Kolloram, in the Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, were identified as the surrendered terrorists.
The terrorists, who are 18 and 17 years old, respectively surrendered a number of weapons, including a 9mm PARA round, 50 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammo, and 250 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.
Earlier, two terrorist leaders were reported to have surrendered to the MNJTF on March 26, 2024. These incidents highlight how successful the MNJTF’s range of non-kinetic tactics have been in promoting safety and security in the Lake Chad basin region, which has been affected by Boko Haram and other terrorist operations.
