Two individuals have passed away in an accident involving a loaded truck and three tricycles popularly known as ‘Keke’ in the Ikotun area of Lagos State, today Tuesday.
According to a statement issued out by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, it also rescued four victims; two pregnant women and two children, who were trapped inside the tricycles when it happened.
It was gathered that survivors have been taken to the hospital for treatment after the two vehicles collided in Lagos state.
Meanwhile, this is coming few days after a tragic incident happened at Ojuelegba area of Lagos state, FreshReporters reports.
Eight persons including two children; a boy and a girl, have reportedly passed away when a 20ft container fell on a commercial bus in the Ojuelegba area of Lagos State.
Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, EMA, revealed that the truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the overhead bridge of the state.
In a statement he shared, the Commercial bus was loading passengers when the incident happened.
According to him, “Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.
“Investigation revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge.
“A total of eight fatalities were recovered, comprising four adult males, two adult females, a girl and a boy.”
