A road accident has reportedly claimed many lives after a trailer truck, which was laden with cement, crashed today in Kogi State.
It was gathered from sources familiar with the incident that the breaks of the truck failed and rammed into a police checkpoint.
The source further said that all policemen who were on duty at the checkpoint were instantly killed by the truck.
The sad incident reportedly happened today, match 7th, between Lokoja and Abuja Express Road.
A video sighted by our reporters showed how the accident victims were lying on the ground; however, it was established that other vehicles were also involved in the accident. In the video, children were seen lying on the ground, other vehicles too damaged, and goods scattered on the road.
As at the time of this report, the identities of the victims were not known. Security operatives were spotted at the scene to maintain order. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
