Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division have nabbed 69 suspected oil thieves and seized over 32,000 litres of stolen petroleum products during intensified operations across the Niger Delta.
Between August 11 and 24, 2025, the operations—carried out with other security agencies—led to the deactivation of nine illegal refining sites in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom States.
Seized items include trucks, boats, drums, jerricans, condensates, and crude oil, while suspects have been handed over to relevant authorities for prosecution.
