Troops N£utralize Notorious Bandit Leader and 3 Others, Dislodge Insurgents’ Treatment Camp (Photos)

Four bandits, including a well-known bandit leader, have been eliminated by Nigerian Army troops attached to Operation Whirl Punch while on combat patrol in Kaduna State’s Giwa Local Government Area.

This was revealed in a statement released on Monday, May 13, 2024 by Samuel Aruwan, the state’s overseeing commissioner of internal security and home affairs.

“Security forces have reported to the Kaduna State Government that troops of Operation Whirl Punch neutralized four bandits, including one notorious bandit leader, during fighting patrols in Giwa LGA at the weekend,” the statement read.

Operational response indicates that the forces carried out a special battle patrol in Giwa LGA, first to Tumburku village and subsequently to Sabon Sara.

Based on reliable information, the soldiers saw bandits escaping from the latter place and pursued them aggressively.

Two of the bandits were eliminated by the army, and they also found a motorcycle, a cell phone, cigarettes, gas lighters, various charms, and a polythene bag filled with petrol.

The operation’s second part was carried out in Basurfe village, which is located southwest of Kindandan. After engaging in an ambush, the soldiers drove the bandits off in motorcycles.

Two additional bandits were neutralized after a fierce chase. The soldiers took additional advantage of the situation, pushing out a camp that was acting as an insurgent treatment center.

Two AK-47 rifles, a pump action rifle, three magazines, sixteen rounds of ammunition, an IED, two radios, a motorbike, cigarettes, narcotics, and medical supplies were among the items recovered at the scene.

According to the sources, a well-known bandit boss named Dogo Bangaje was eliminated during the operations along with an unidentified close accomplice. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
