Troops Neutralize Six Terrorists And Seize Cache Of Weapons In Successful Raid In Kaduna

Troops of Operation Forest Sanity, in conjunction with combatants from the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) special forces, successfully eliminated six suspected terrorists during a covert raid in Maidaro village, Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna state.

The operation, which occurred on Friday, resulted in the neutralization of the suspects and the recovery of a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.

According to Musa Danmadami, the director of defence media operations, a gunfight broke out between the troops and the suspected terrorists. As a result of the exchange, six terrorists were killed, and their hideout was dismantled.

The recovered items included five AK-47 rifles, 192 rounds of 7.62 x 39 mm special ammunition, 74 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm special ammunition, and nine AK-47 rifle magazines. Additionally, the troops seized three improvised explosive devices (IEDs), three Baofeng radios, one PKM machine gun, and three motorcycles, among other miscellaneous items.

Danmadami urged citizens to provide accurate and useful information about any potential terrorist activities within their communities. He emphasized the military high command’s appreciation for the efforts of the troops and encouraged the public to collaborate by promptly sharing credible intelligence on terrorist and criminal activities in their respective areas.

The successful operation conducted by the troops of Operation Forest Sanity and the DHQ special forces demonstrates their commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerian citizens.
