Troops Nêutralize Bandits’ Leader And Associates, Successfully Rescue 20 Victims

The Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarain Daji (OPHD) troops have proven their efficiency once more by freeing 20 kidnapped victims in a separate operation.

Two terrorists, including the infamous leader Sule, were neutralized as a result of the successful operation, which was carried out on January 29, 2024, in Zamfara State.

The OPHD troops targeted the known terrorist enclaves at Rukudawa, Dumburum Forest, Tsanu, Birnin Tsaba, Magare, and Shamushalle general areas of Zurmi and Birnin Magaji Local Government areas.

The bandits’ leader, Sule, was taken out during the operation, and his allies were forced to abandon their hiding places due to the forces’ superior fighting ability.

The spokesman for the OPHD, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, said in a statement that the troops had not only killed two terrorists, including the commander of the group from Katsina State known as Sainaje, but they had also successfully freed eighteen hostages. He said four men, fourteen women, and children were among the rescued.

“Similarly, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji rescued another two victims who were captured by the terrorists while on transit along Shinkafi Isa road of Zamfara State.

“The rescued victims were abandoned during a gun duel with the highly motivated troops whose timely arrival led to the rescue of the victims.

“All rescued victims were handed over to the appropriate authorities to reunite them with their respective families.

“The Commander, Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarain Daji, General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut has continued to commend the efforts of the troops for their doggedness and resilience in going after the terrorists.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
