Nigerian Army forces assigned for counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations in the North West made a considerable advance into the terrorists’ enclave in Zamfara State’s Maru Local Government Area, where they demolished the camp and eliminated the scores of Bandits.
The military carried out a targeted clearance operation to destroy the suspected terrorists’ operating base in the town of Maru, based on reliable intelligence regarding the terrorists’ activities.
It was learned that ater engaging in a gunfight with the terrorists, the brave soldiers killed 12 of them, forcing the remaining ones to escape.
In addition, one magazine, twelve rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, two locally made guns, and one AK-47 rifle were found by the forces. Once the terrorists were driven out, the army demolished their base. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
