Tragedy’ as commercial bus collide with private car, 40ft container falls in Lagos state

An unidentified private car owner was killed on Thursday morning by a commercial bus driver while driving against traffic (One-way) around the Meiran area of Lagos state.

This comes few hours after a train collide with a bus conveying Lagos staff.

It was gathered that Volkswagen commercial bus driver with registration no EPE 964XX, while driving one-way at high speed, collided with a private car (Honda Civic EPE 666 BC), according to a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.

The accident, which occurred around 9:30 am, made the driver of the Honda Civic car sustain a serious neck injury, and he died instantly in a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, another 40-foot container on Friday morning fell near the General Hospital, Ikeja Underbridge, Lagos State.

According to a tweet by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority noted that the container needed to be offloaded before recovery was done.

It read, “#RoadIncident. A fallen 40-foot container-laden truck fell at General Hospital under bridge Ikeja. It needs to be offloaded before recovery is done. Personnel fully on the ground managing traffic accordingly.”

No casualty was recorded.
