Traders at the Alaba Rago Market in Ojo, Lagos State, have embarked on a cleaning exercise to avoid sanctions from government officials for environmental infractions.
The Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, made this known in a post on his X handle on Tuesday morning, 24th of October, 2023.
His caption read,
“Aside from the ongoing clean-up on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway by our special squad led by ACP Bayo Sulaiman, which has already reached Alaba Rago, Igbo Elerin, and other parts, the Alaba Rago Market has started their own ‘magic clean-up’ of their market because they have seen the war against environmental infractions across markets in the state.”
Gawat added, “Though the clean-up by the Alaba Rago market is clearly ‘sudden’, they are not playing the blame game or complaining about being victimised; they are moving to quickly clean their very dirty environment.
“This exact thing happened to Owode Market too; they still got locked even after their sudden cleaning; even after being sealed, they still did not complain; they hustled to clean up.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
