To Avoid Divorce, I Blocked My Colleagues After Marriage – Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola Opens Up

Opeyemi Aiyeola, Veteran Nollywood actress, has revealed that she blocked her colleagues in the movie industry after getting married to protect her marriage and avoid the risk of divorce.

Speaking during a recent appearance on Oyinmomo TV, the actress, who left the screen for over a decade following her relocation to the United States with her husband, Olayiwola Abdulwakilu, said she made the decision to focus entirely on her family and children.

“I was off the scene for more than ten years, and I apologised to my fans. I held my marriage in high esteem, so I blocked everybody’s contact in the industry,” she said.

She added that the negative narratives about entertainers’ relationships also influenced her decision.

“So, because I didn’t want my own to be like that, I blocked everyone from the industry for 10 years.”

She noted that she has now unblocked her colleagues and is back to focusing on her career after fulfilling her role as a dedicated wife and mother to her two sons.
