President Tinubu has withdrawn Ruby Onwudiwe’s candidacy for the CBN Board following protests from prominent APC members on Ruby’s endorsement of Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Senator Solomon Adeola pointed out the impropriety of the nomination to President Tinubu last night during his meeting with Senate President Akpabio and other senators.
Following the announcement of her nomination, a few prominent APC supporters had earlier voiced their strong opposition to the nomination of an opposition person to the position of head of the national bank, arguing that it was irregular.
