Senegalese President Bassirou Faye was welcomed by President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja on Thursday.
Faye is currently in Nigeria for his first official visit since taking office as Senegal’s fifth democratically elected president in April.

Senegal’s presidential election was finally held on March 24, following many delays.
Ousmane Sanko, Faye’s political mentor, was also imprisoned prior to voting on charges of “defamation” and other offenses.
After an amnesty law was established, Faye and Sanko were freed from custody ten days prior to the start of the election campaign.
The previous prime minister of Senegal, Amadou Ba, was beaten by Faye in the presidential election, with 54 percent of the vote.
Macky Sall, who has been in power since 2012, was succeeded by Faye.
