Tinubu Meets With Ex Governors Wike, Umahi, And Akpabio At The Presidential Vill

President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in a high-level meeting with three prominent former governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting, which commenced this afternoon, involves former governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, and Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State.

The three former governors arrived at the Presidential Villa around 3:33 pm but faced a brief delay as security personnel sought clearance from their superiors before granting them access to the President’s office. It appears that the security personnel had not been briefed about the purpose of the visit.

Interestingly, both Wike and Umahi separately visited the State House last week, with Wike being accompanied by former governor James Ibori of Delta State and the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde. Umahi, on the other hand, was accompanied by the newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.

During his previous visit, Wike expressed his support for President Tinubu, stating that he wanted to show solidarity with the President. These recent meetings between Tinubu and various political figures have raised speculation about possible alliances and collaborations in the political landscape.

Moreover, rumors have surfaced suggesting that Wike may be considered for a ministerial position within the Tinubu administration. Despite being a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike’s influential role in the February 25 presidential election, which ushered Tinubu into power, seems to have caught the President’s attention.

Additionally, it has been reported that Akpabio is the preferred candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the position of Senate President. On the other hand, Umahi, who recently stepped down as governor, has been elected as a senator.

As the meeting at the Presidential Villa progresses, the nation eagerly awaits further details regarding the discussions and potential outcomes of this significant gathering of political heavyweights.
