President Bola Tinubu has announced the acquisition of new mine-resistant and armored vehicles for the Nigerian military to strengthen its fight against terrorism, banditry, and other security threats.
Speaking on Monday at the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Lagos, which was declared open on his behalf by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President also revealed that over 100 Armored Fighting Vehicles are being refurbished and will soon return to active duty.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment under the Renewed Hope Agenda, President Tinubu described security as the fundamental pillar of national development. “There is no nation that can achieve greatness without security. This government remains resolute in mobilising all military and law enforcement assets to eliminate security threats and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians,” he stated.
This procurement highlights the Federal Government’s ongoing push to enhance the operational capabilities of the armed forces in response to persistent security challenges nationwide.
