Chandigarh Police’s crime branch in India announced on Monday that they had taken down a global drug trafficking organization, detained three Nigerian nationals, and took 204.86 grams of crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as “ICE” or “meth.”
The defendants are New Delhi residents Frank Nwokeji, 42; Loua, 36; and Jack David llobi Tochukwu, 42.
According to the police, Sector-39 officers had previously detained Loua in connection with an NDPS Act case in 2019.
He was being held on bail after being found in possession of 207 grams of heroin. Delhi Police had already taken David into custody, the officers said.
As per the police, on March 30, a team of inspector Ashok Kumar’s crime branch received a tip-off about three African nationals who were supplying drugs in Chandigarh.
The police acted upon the inputs and conducted an investigation, discovering that the individuals had entered India on medical and business visas for a brief stay, but had become involved in drug peddling; they were all illegally residing in India as their visas had already expired.
The police said that they purchased the contraband at discounted prices from their home country and then sold it at higher prices in bars, pubs, and discos in the Tricity area. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
