The Government of Abia State has confirmed the recent outbreak of cholera disease in Amaogwugwu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
It was gathered that three people have died from the disease. Many, including an eight-month-old baby are still hospitalised in the area.
Dr. Joe Osuji, the Abia state commissioner for health, revealed that his ministry is monitoring the situation and has sent officials and drugs to the community for the affected persons in the state.
