‘Those under investigation for corruption will have their day in court’, EFCC chairman vows

Boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Olanipekun Olukayode, EFCC has stated that those under investigation for corruption will have their day in court.

Olukayode made this vow on Monday, 8th of July, 2024 in Abuja while addressing representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the EFCC’s headquarters, Abuja on a solidarity visit.

He said:

“A lot of you have been asking about those who we are currently investigating about corruption, don’t worry, everybody will have his day in court. Everybody, i promise you that. We cannot continue like this in this country. We go to other small small; countries that don’t have the natural resources we have and you see things working.

“How long are we going to continue to suffer in Nigeria? President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has told us that he is going to clean this system and so let us give him all the necessary reports and if we see something that the government is doing in the right way, let us support it.

“Now, we are not saying we are perfect in the EFCC, maybe one or two people may have been overzealous in the course of doing this work and i promise you justice, equity, fairness in the way we do things; when we see such people we are going to sanction them and we are going to ensure that they don’t give EFCC a bad name and that is what i am doing.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
