Thiago Silva has agreed to a two-year contract to rejoin Fluminense, a Brazilian team, According to reports.
The defender will sign with his new team in July, and he will make an appearance at the famous Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, which hosted the 2014 World Cup final.
After four years at Stamford Bridge, 39-year-old Silva announced that he will be leaving the Blues this summer at the conclusion of his contract.
Before joining AC Milan and winning the Copa do Brasil, he played for Fluminense from 2007 to 2009.
According to Brazilian publication Globo, his agreement until 2026 is agreed upon, but it won’t be made public until the contract is actually signed out of respect for Chelsea.
He will finish out his Chelsea contract, but there are rumors that he may be allowed to go to Brazil to finalize the transaction.
