The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike has displayed happiness with the performance of contractors in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
There are several projects currently underway in the FCT, such as the development of infrastructure for Wuye District and construction of FCT Highway 105. This highway spans over 11km with six lanes and a dual carriageway that connects Airport Expressway to Kuje. Additionally, there is also ongoing work on constructing an official residence suitable for use by the Vice President.
Expressing his satisfaction with the pace and caliber of work accomplished, Wike praised the contractors when addressing the projects.
According to him, the contractors have given their assurance that both the Wuye/Wuse flyover (currently 85% complete) and the official residence of the Vice President will be completed by May of this year.
Upon completion, the FCT Highway 105 (a six lane dual carriageway stretching for 11km) connecting Airport Expressway to Kuje will unlock and revolutionize the region as confirmed by the minister.
Commending the contractors, Wike stated that one of the interchanges in Wuye District we visited is nearly 85% finished. The contractors are staying true to their promise and plan to deliver it by May.

Returning there today, the standard of work and its quality are truly striking. I am genuinely impressed with what I observed.
In addition to discussing the Vice President’s official residence, the minister noted that although not immediately noticeable, contractors were currently working on electrical installations. However, he reassured that significant transformations would become evident in a matter of weeks.
He guaranteed that the project would be completed by May.
Wike further emphasized that there will be no abandonment of existing projects in the FCT, and assured that those regarded as essential have been incorporated into the 2024 statutory budget for sufficient financing.
As per the minister’s statement, it has been made clear that no project will be forsaken. The projects of utmost importance have already been incorporated in our upcoming 2024 budget plan and Mr President is expected to present it to the National Assembly upon his return from Qatar.
Furthermore, the minister spoke about residents’ worries regarding what appears to be a postponement of the road resurfacing initiative, more specifically in Asokoro District.
