Theft: Nigerian Navy Hands Over Vessels, Crew To Anti-Graft

The Nigerian Navy has handed over two vessels and some crew accused of crude oil theft to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

In a statement released on the social media handle of the anti-graft agency, EFCC the two vessels, MT Platform and MV Caribbean Crest alongside a crew of 22 suspected oil thieves were handed over to them by the Navy Force on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the MV Caribbean Crest and her crew members of the crude oil were nabbed early this year, in February at the Bonny Fairway Buoy with an unspecified volume of stolen crude oil suspected to be automotive gas oil.

It was also gathered that MT Platform was intercepted on the 8th of June, 2022, in the vicinity of the Bonny Anchorage for dealing illegal in petroleum products without a license from it agency.
