Tears as Strange F!re Déstroys House and Yam Barns in Ebonyi; Victims Cry for Help

A mysterious fire has consumed goods, including yam barns valued at over two million naira, at Omege Noyo Alike in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The victims, Mr. Michael Mbam and Mr. Jonathan Mbam, said they were not at home when the incident occurred but were alerted by neighbours who noticed smoke rising from their compound.

They explained that their source of livelihood, including yam barns worth more than two million naira each, was completely destroyed by the fire.

The victims appealed to the government, particularly Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and other well-meaning individuals to assist them in recovering from the devastating incident, warning that without help, they feared it could lead to their untimely death.

A neighbour, Mr. Boniface Nome, described the fire outbreak that destroyed the property of the two families as unfortunate.

He appealed to stakeholders in Ikwo, public office holders, and the state government to support the victims in recovering from the huge loss.

Other sympathisers thanked God that no lives were lost but joined in the call for assistance to help the victims cope with the aftermath of the disaster.

As of the time of this report, the cause or source of the fire outbreak remained unknown.
