Suspected Terrorists Kill 26 Farmers In Renewed Attack In Zamfara State (Photos)

In a tragic incident that unfolded on Saturday, suspected terrorists launched a renewed attack on farmers in the villages of Jambako, Sakida, and Saulawa, located in the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest, Nigeria. The assault claimed the lives of at least 26 individuals, according to eyewitness accounts.

The attack occurred in the morning as farmers were preparing their fields for the upcoming farming season. The terrorists descended upon the unsuspecting farmers, resulting in a high death toll. Reports indicate that 21 people lost their lives in Jambako, while five individuals from Sakida and two from Saulawa sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Eyewitnesses also revealed that when news of the attack reached the Sakida community, members of the local vigilante group swiftly intervened and engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle. Tragically, this confrontation led to the loss of an additional 18 lives.

Following the attacks, the bodies of the victims were laid to rest. The remains of the 21 individuals killed in Jambako were buried, along with the five victims from Sakida.

Confirming the incident, Assistant Superintendent Yazid Abubakar, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara State Command, stated that the authorities are still in the process of investigating the situation. As of now, the exact casualty figures cannot be determined.
