Suspected Child trafficker nabbed while attempting to snatch a 1-year-old girl from parents in Enugu

Men of the Enugu State Command serving in the Igbo-Eze North Police Division working with the Neighborhood Watch Group has smashed a child stealing syndicate and arrested one 21 years old Ifeanyi Omeke, at Igogoro Village in Enugu-Ezike community of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, on 27th of October, 2023, at about 1.30 p.m.

DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said this in a statement issued out by the spokesperson of the command. He said the suspect was arrested after he sneaked into the complainant’s house in the mentioned community and attempted to steal a one-year, three-month-old girl child.

‘’The suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he was contracted by his cohorts at large to steal children for ritual and other criminal purposes.” Ndukwe said

He added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State CID for further thorough investigation that will lead to the arrest of other members of the criminal syndicate and their prosecution. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
