Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have k!lled a woman in Ado-Ekiti, the capital city of the state.
According to reports, the tragic incident which has caused panic among residents of the area occurred along NTA Road, Ado Ekiti around 7 am on Saturday, 6th of July, 2024.
The woman, whose identity is not yet ascertained, was shot d£ad by the gunmen operating on a motorcycle.
“The gunmen who were riding on a motorcycle made an attempt to forcefully dispossess the woman of her bag while standing by the road,” a source told journalists.
“The woman was said to have resisted the attempt and refused to surrender her bag and other valuables to them.
“She was shot by her assailants who fled the scene immediately.”
People around scampered to safety while business owners and traders hurriedly closed their shops.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident said the k!lling was more of a robbery.
He disclosed that the sum of forty thousand, two hundred and eighty naira (N40,280) was found in the bag of the deceased woman.
Abutu said her body has been deposited in the morgue and the police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
