The Nigeria Super Falcons of Nigeria have been crashed out of the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics without a win after losing 3-1 to Japan to make it three losses in their three games.
Nigeria lost their first two games against Brazil and Spain, but went into Wednesday’s match hoping to make it to the quarter-finals of the women’s football event of the Olympics.
In Wednesday’s clash, Japan scored twice in the opening minutes after Hamano Maika scored first before Tanako Maina’s well-taken free-kick beat Chiamaka Nnadozie in the 32nd minute.
The Japanese girls wrapped up the victory with another goal by Hikaru Kitagawa after Jennifer Echegini thought she had given the Nigerians a lifeline when she put one back.
