Students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan have taken to the streets to protest Governor Seyi Makinde’s recent decision to rename the institution after one of his predecessors, the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.
The demonstration caused significant disruption along the busy Sango-Eleyele Road in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, leaving hundreds of commuters stranded.
Just days ago, Governor Makinde officially changed the name of the institution to Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Olunloyo holds the distinction of being the first Ibadan native to govern the old Oyo State, serving briefly from October to December 1983. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
