Students from tertiary institutions in Ondo State took to the streets of Akure on Thursday to protest the escalating wave of abductions and criminal activities in the region.
Gathering under the banner of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ondo chapter, the demonstrators raised their voices against the growing insecurity, which they say is taking a heavy toll on students.
With placards bearing various messages and chants of “Enough is enough,” the protesters marched to demand urgent government action.
The protest saw demonstrators block Oba Adesida Road near the “A” Division in Akure.
They expressed frustration over the frequent kidnappings of their peers, highlighting the disturbing trend where victims are often killed even after ransom payments are made.
