Students Need Employability, Academic Skills – UK Varsity Director

Mr. Matt Dean, The Global Director of International Recruitment, Aston University, Birmingham, UK, has revealed the importance and benefits of engaging in a work experience by the students to gain more quality academic skills and experiences while still in the university.

The director stated this while Speaking at the Alumni university party, Aston party, held in Lagos.

Dean disclosed that the varsity mission was to offer quality courses in business, engineering, health, math, sciences and also social sciences and to gain maximum work experience of their choices.

He further stated that they give postgraduate opportunities to gain working experiences depending on their course of choice.

According to him, ‘‘Within all of our courses we offer work placements. If you are an undergraduate, it means you can work for one year or two before the end of your degree program. So it gives you the academic skill and the employability experience. It gives you a step ahead into the job market because we know it is a competitive job market.

“We also give all of our post-graduate students the opportunity to gain working experience starting from one week up to four years depending on their programmes . ’’ He added
