Strike: Nigerian Army reacts to NLC ‘s claim its officer are surrounding venue of meeting with FG Team

Nigerian Army has reacted to the claims made by the striking Nigeria Labour Congress where it claimed the officers are surrounding venue of the meeting.

As earlier reported by Freshreporters Media, Nigeria Labour Congress raised alarm over the presence of soldiers at venue on ongoing meeting the secretary general of the federation, SGF.

The union announced this via their X handle on 3rd of June, 2024 after the FG team summoned the striking union for renegotiation of the ongoing dispute on minimum wages and electricity hike.

The post via their X handle, reads,

“BREAKING NEWS!
Soldiers are Presently sorrounding the venue of the meeting between Labour and Government at the premises of the SGF.”

“Any Attempt to Intimidate, Provoke or Blackmail Our Leaders at the Negotiation table, Would be resisted and Strike action would further be prolonged .”

Reacting to the post, the Nigerian Army via its X handle wrote,

“The attention of Army Headquarters has been drawn to a false breaking news by NLC alleging that soldiers currently surround the venue of the ongoing meeting between NLC and the SGF.

Kindly note that the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who is also attending the meeting, arrived at the meeting venue with his retinue of statutorily approved military escorts. Once the meeting is over, the escorts will lead the NSA from the venue .

Kindly disregard the deliberate and misleading falsehood being peddled about the presence of the escorts at the meeting.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
