Some Christians Are Driven by Sàtanism, Not God — Speaker Esther Ideh

Speaker Esther Ideh has sparked a conversation among Christians after questioning whether some believers’ faith is driven more by fear of Satan and the desire to solve personal problems than by genuine love for God.

Speaking on The Shining Light Show, Ideh argued that some Christians may be motivated by Satan rather than God, particularly in their prayers, fasting, and pursuit of God.

“A number of Christians are driven by Satanism, not God. And I say that because Satan is the reason people want to pray. Satan is the reason people want to fast. Satan is the reason people want to seek the face of God, not because of God,” she said.

She also suggested that fear of Satan has influenced Christian worship, including the songs believers sing.

“Our songs are even shaped by our fear of Satan. A number of people fear Satan more than they fear God,” Ideh said.

She then posed a question she believes Christians should seriously consider: “If Satan didn’t exist, would you still believe in God? Would you still see the need for God? Would you still think of God the way you think of Him?”

According to her, Christianity is sometimes presented primarily as a solution to life’s problems, with believers being promised comfort, wealth, and success.

“I think the way Christianity was given to us, I think that Christianity was given to us as a way out of our problems. Come to Jesus, your life will be great. Come to Jesus, everything will be perfect. Come to Jesus, you’ll get the biggest cars, the nicest house, the fanciest jobs,” she said.

Ideh ultimately challenged believers to examine the foundation of their faith, asking, “So if these things do not exist, would we still want God? Would we still love Him?”
