Pelumi Nubi, 28, a travel content creator, has reached Lagos after leaving London on a solitary road journey.
A special adviser on tourism, arts, and culture, Idris Aregbe, and commissioner of tourism, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka welcomed her on behalf of the Lagos State Government at the border between the Nigerian and Benin Republics.
Nubi set off on her quest, on January 31, encountering some challenges along the way
She was spared from a collision in March; footage of the mangled car showed significant front-end damage and a broken windshield.
Nubi left England and traveled through France, Spain, and Morocco before making her way across the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Togo, and Benin before arriving in Lagos.
Gboyega Akosile, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Lagos Governor on Sunday, tweeted: “Lagos State Government gives a hero’s welcome to @peluminubi_, a Nigeria-British citizen who who did a solo drive from London to Lagos.
