Soldiers Rescue 21 Pregnant Teenagers From Abia Baby Factory (Video)

Soldiers from the 14th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, stationed in Ohafia, Abia State, carried out a successful raid on a notorious baby factory on Sunday, rescuing 21 heavily pregnant teenagers.

The operation also led to the rescue of two babies—a boy and a girl. However, the owner of the facility, Mrs. Nma Achumba, managed to escape arrest while the raid was underway.

The baby factory, known as Nma Charity Home, operated under the guise of a registered charity organization, which Mrs. Achumba had established with the Abia State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Located near the popular Umunkpeyi market on Old Umuahia-Aba road, in the Isiala Ngwa South local government area, the facility had been in operation for several years.

During previous raids conducted by security operatives, both local and external to the state, numerous pregnant teenage girls were rescued from Nma Charity Home.

However, on each occasion, Mrs. Achumba managed to evade capture. These repeated raids underscore the long-standing suspicion surrounding the activities of the baby factory.

The recent operation led to the arrest of a 34-year-old chef named Katherine Onyechi Ngwanma, who was found on the premises during the raid.

Ngwanma is believed to have been involved in the operations of the baby factory. The military authorities are conducting further investigations to gather more information and identify any other individuals connected to the illegal activities.

The Nigerian Army’s raid on the baby factory has once again exposed the deeply concerning issue of human trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable individuals, particularly young pregnant girls. The rescue of the pregnant teenagers and the two babies is a significant step in dismantling this illegal operation and ensuring the safety and well-being of the victims.
