Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, also known as Wizkid, has announced that his sixth studio album will be dedicated to his late mother Jane Morayo Balogun.
The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner made the revelation in a video message posted on social media platform on Saturday, 1st of June, 2024.
The multiple award-winning artiste said that the record, titled ‘Morayo’ in honour of his mother, would be released “very soon.”
While getting out of a private jet, Wizkid stated,
“My album ‘Morayo’, dedicated to my mother, the love of my life, will be out very soon. Don’t be dull. “Do not sleep.”
Recall that Wizkid’s mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, died on 18th of August, 2023, in London and was buried in Nigeria; a difficult time for the superstar and his family.
Wizkid admitted that the agony of losing his mother “hurts deeply.” He went on to say, “The pain is profound.”
