Senator Orji Kalu Begs NLC To Shelve Indefinite Strike

Senator Orji Kalu, Nigerian Senator has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress to shelve their planned nationwide strike.

The Labour Congress had earlier threatened to embark on indefinite strike after the federal government failure to address the lingering demand of Nigerians.

The Tinubu led administration had promised to review minimum wages, palliatives in order the curb the drastic effect of fuel subsidy removal on 29th of May, 2023.

The Labour Congress gave federal government two weeks to address the issues after the end of two days warning strike.

In a recent move, NLC in a statement promised to ground the nation’s economy starting from 3rd of October, 2023. Since the groundbreaking announcement by the Congress, notable groups have appealed to the union.

The Nigerian senator, Orji Kalu also in video captured by freshreporters media was also appealing to reconsider their decision on embarking on nationwide strike.

He said,

“I still plead with the Nigeria Labour Congress to reconsider their decision on embarking on nationwide strike. Any thing less than activities to promote the economy would hurt the nation more than ever.
