Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State and current senator representing Edo North, caused major disruption at the Zulu Terminal of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday after arriving late for his flight to Abuja.
It was gathered that Oshiomhole missed his 6:30 am Air Peace flight and, rather than accept the delay, blocked the terminal entrance in protest, preventing access for other passengers and halting operations.
Despite multiple appeals from the terminal manager, Oshiomhole reportedly refused to move, prompting the intervention of the regional manager.
A management meeting was swiftly convened to calm the situation and persuade the senator to allow normal airport operations to resume.
Witnesses described the atmosphere as chaotic, with staff pleading with the senator while stranded passengers looked on. Air Peace reportedly stood firm, refusing to delay the flight or make exceptions for Oshiomhole, citing strict adherence to their check-in policy.
