Abdul Ningi, the Nigeria Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District, on Tuesday, 4th of June, 2024, returned to plenary sessions following a three-month suspension which began on 12th of March, 2024.
Last week, Deputy Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro moved a motion for Ningi’s recall, expressing regret on his behalf and taking responsibility for his actions.
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, subsequently announced Ningi’s unconditional recall after pleas from some lawmakers.
Ningi’s suspension came from a controversial interview where he alleged that the 2024 budget was padded, claiming the National Assembly approved N25tn while the Presidency implemented N28.7tn. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
