Sanwo-Olu discount Lagos market ‘Ounje Eko’ to reopen on Sunday

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered that the Sunday market ‘Ounjè Eko’ with 25% cut in prices of goods should return on Sunday.

A video posted on Wednesday, 28th of August, 2024, by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, shows Agric and Food Systems Commissioner Abisola Olusanya revealing this information to journalists.

Omotoso captioned the video:

“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the Sunday market Ounjè Eko with 25% cut in prices should return on Sunday. Agric and Food Systems Commissioner Abisola Olusanya tells the media – all is set. Lagosians, are you ready?.”

The markets which ended some weeks after it first opened in March offered Lagos residents a 25% discount on staple food items such as: rice, beans, gari, bread, eggs, tomatoes, and pepper.

However, the markets were opened at 27 locations in Ikeja, 6 in Lagos Island, 9 in Ikorodu, 5 in Epe; and 10 in Badagry divisions. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
