Cristiano Ronaldo shared something on social media on Thursday night during Manchester United’s late loss to Chelsea.
By the time the halftime whistle went out, Erik ten Hag’s team had already eliminated the Blues’ two-goal advantage thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho. The latter’s second goal of the match almost ended the away side’s chances of winning following their draw with Brentford the previous weekend.
However, Diogo Dalot’s late penalty gave the hosts the advantage back, and when Cole Palmer leveled in stoppage time, the childhood United fan inflicted even more pain on the Red Devils with a match-winning goal just 82 seconds later.
Just moments after Palmer’s winner, Ronaldo posted a photo of himself and captioned it: ‘Happy days’, with a green heart emoji.
And some fans immediately took notice of the timing of the post, claiming it was not a coincidence.
