Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara has revealed that his government intends to form an panel to investigate how the state was run during the previous eight years under the leadership of “godfather” Nyesom Wike, who is currently a minister.
Governor Fubara made this declaration on Monday, following Dagogo Iboroma’s oath as the state’s attorney general. This came just after the House of Assembly, chaired by Victor Oko-Jumbo, had vetted and verified the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Speaking, Fubara tasked Iboroma with convening the panel of inquiry as soon as possible to investigate the state government’s actions during the previous eight years.
He declared categorically that the political issue could not be addressed and that the state was in a dire condition.
The governor, who was looking for a peaceful resolution to the state’s issue, accused his opponents of purposefully undermining his government.
He promised that going forward, he will make difficult choices regardless of how painful they may appear.
In addition, Governor Fubara addressed remarks made by former Attorney General Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN) and Alabo George-Kelly, his Ministry of Works counterpart.
He said that the former AG was undermining his administration by bringing nolle prosequi cases that were against the state’s interests. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
