The Plateau state Governor Caleb Mutfwang has debunked claims of fire explosion around the old Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) site near the Terminus Market in Jos North Local Government Area.
Several national dailies had reported that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated near the old JUTH, close to Terminus Market.
However, while reacting to the claims, Mutfwang in a video seen on Tuesday, 12th of November said that the claims were not true.
The Governor said:
“There was a scare this morning in Jos at Terminus, where a rumour went round that there was a bom and the EOPD of the police had to be there, and I’m glad to inform everyone here that there was no bomb whatsoever.
“But it was good that people were sensitive. That they saw an object and they suspected that this object should be investigated. I think that is part of what we are called to do in the society. Let’s be sensitive to things, movement and comments around us.
“We must also be responsible particularly in the use of social media. Social media has become a tool of conflict creation and distabilisation. And we must be responsible in making sure that we manage social media responsibly.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
