Mary Remmy Njoku, the Popular Nollywood actress, and CEO ROK TV has narrated how a lawyer underrated her due to her simplicity and had refuse to let her be a guarantor for her family member.
The ROK CEO and founder shared this in a recent post she made on instagram. Mrs Remmy Njoku is married to a businessman, Njoku and God given three(3) children.
Mrs Remmy said her family member needed a guarantor for her rent, but she couldn’t help because the lawyer involved underrated her, even with several convictions that’s she’s the ROCK TV CEO.
The popular actress stated him her narration that the lawyer remained adamant and refused to accept her as the guarantor because she can’t afford such property.
However, at last she said she had to call a male colleague who, the lawyer is a fan of the colleague to stand in as guarantor for her family rent.
The lawyer after making several research about her, she stated that the law firm called back to apologise and wanted her to sign instead but she told the law firm that it was tool late for that.
According to her narration; “Dear Women, women are doing big things too!!! Few weeks ago, a family member needed a guarantor for her rent and I went to the lawyer’s office to sign. Spent over 45mins trying to convince her I can afford the rent but she didn’t believe me.
Thought I was an actress whose career has refused to blow. She needed a proof that I am truly the Founder of ROK. Or the CEO of the studio. I Googled my name but she no gree 😢. For her eye I can’t be ME. I be small geh. The Agent and I begged her to do her small research but refused. Told her I will get CEO of IROKOTV to co sign but she said I was calling big big names. She insisted on seeing my business card. I had non. BUSINESS CARD wey dem fit write anything o! 😉😉
I had to call a male Colleague whose career is ‘stronger’ than mine to help be the guarantor. She was a fan and super happy.
I was sad. For her. She lives in a box. An old one.
Today, Nollywood is arguably controlled by women. We sign almost all the cheques!
But I guess I am too young and too simple to be ME.
I had no entourage
I waited at their reception
I was super polite to her
She even asked for the name of my Grandfather’s village.
I was nice.
Yet she insisted on being a fool. Sad.
The law firm called back later that night to apologise and wanted me to sign instead. Too late.”
