Rauf Aregbesola, the interior Minister has on Tuesday, 12th of July, 2022 paid a visit to the Kirikiri Maximum and Minimum Security Custodial Centres in Lagos state, shunning the mega rally of All Progressives Congress, APC that took place in his home state, Osun.
Other APC chieftains were present in Osun State yesterday to show support for Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the current Osun state Governor who is also seeking a second term in office in the coming Osun Saturday’s election.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola succeeded Aregbesola, the current interior minister as governor of Osun state.
However, In a statement issued out and signed by Sola Fasure, his Media Adviser, the minister, Aregbesola during the visit, revealed that there were about 61,000 suspected Nigerian terrorists in the custody of the correctional services, Kirikiri.
The statement reads, “Today, a core of the criminal elements and insurgents across the country are on a path to defeat, they have been heavily degraded. Over 61,000 of them are in our custody in the North-East.
“Our assurance to Nigerians is that we shall rise above these challenges and emerge stronger and more resilient.” It said
