Nigerian Afrobeats singer Adekunle Temitope, popularly known as Small Doctor, has raised the alarm over the growing drug abuse crisis among Nigerian youths, following a recent visit to his old neighborhood in Agege, Lagos.
In a post on X, the singer expressed shock at the condition of several young men he once knew, describing scenes of them appearing disoriented, while some were seen “sleeping while standing” or frozen in unnatural postures.
Disturbed by what he witnessed, Small Doctor called for stronger anti-drug campaigns and urged more celebrities to use their platforms to address the issue.
He also reflected on a conversation from six years ago with Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde (KWAM 1), who had advised him to consider setting up a rehabilitation center, predicting that the escalating drug problem would make such a facility not only necessary but also “lucrative.”
