The Kano State Hisbah Board has raided and shut down a sports b+tting shop as part of its ongoing enforcement operations during the holy month of Ramadan.
Images of the crackdown were shared on the board’s official Facebook handle, showing operatives sealing off the premises.
Confirming the operation, the Deputy Commander of Hisbah in Kano, Sheikh Mujahideen Aminudeen, told journalists that the raid was conducted in line with the state’s strict Sharia laws.
According to him, the commission successfully shut down the betting shop following an inspection of the premises.
He also expressed disappointment that some Muslims continue to engage in g@mbling despite the sacred nature of Ramadan.
Kano is one of 12 northern Nigerian states that officially adopted Sharia law in 2000, prohibiting gambling, alcohol consumption, prostitution, and other activities considered contrary to Islamic teachings.[CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>>
