The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has slammed its former presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, accusing him of betraying the trust of party members and attempting to hijack the party structure.
The NNPP leadership reaffirmed his expulsion, describing his recent criticisms of defectors as hypocritical and self-serving.
In a strongly worded statement, the party urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to go ahead and absorb Kwankwaso, stressing that he no longer represents their values.
They stated that the Kwankwaso faction had become a destabilizing force and that the NNPP is now focused on rebuilding and cleansing its ranks.
The NNPP also apologized to President Bola Tinubu and the APC over what it called Kwankwaso’s “reckless utterances,” insisting he acted on his own and without the party’s backing.
