Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that head coach Luis Enrique has been hospitalised after suffering a fractured collarbone in a cycling accident.
The 54-year-old Spaniard sustained the injury following a fall while riding earlier this week. PSG announced that their manager is currently under medical care, though his condition is reported to be stable.
The incident comes as PSG prepare for the new campaign, with Enrique at the heart of their long-term project since taking charge in 2023.
PSG confirmed the news in an official statement on their social media channels:
“Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone. “
“The Club expresses its full support and wishes him a speedy recovery. Further updates will follow in due course.”
Enrique is now recovering as fans and the club rally around him with well wishes.
