Nigerian Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, a k a Odumeje, has shared a candid reflection on his challenging upbringing in Onitsha. Born at Number 3 Nnewi Street, Onitsha, he revealed his early life was far from easy.
Growing up in one of the city’s most notorious areas, identified as Usman Street, he was exposed to a harsh environment that shaped his teenage years. By the age of 14, Ohanaemere had already become a hardened criminal, known for terrorizing his neighborhood.
However, his life took a dramatic turn when his mother, through her relentless prayers, helped guide him toward a spiritual awakening. Ohanaemere recounts that it was through an encounter with Jesus Christ that he was “arrested” and transformed.
This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his journey away from crime and toward becoming a changed person.
Today, Prophet Odumeje is recognised as a dynamic religious leader, known for his energetic preaching style and controversial claims of miraculous interventions.
