“Pro-rata:” Lecturers, Students Stage Mass Protest In UNILAG

The Members of the University of Lagos, UNILAG chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU staged protest against the half salaries paid by the Federal Government of Nigeria in October.

It was gathered that some students also participated in the protest which took place on Tuesday with a high number.

The university lecturers has condemned the half salary to its members and accused the government of attempting to reduce Nigerian lecturers to casual workers.

The federal government has described the half salary as “pro-rata” which means you cannot be paid for works not done.
